NAO Index
The North Atlantic Oscillation Index (NAO Index) describes the intensity of the west wind drift in the North Atlantic. The stronger the west wind drift the milder the winter in Europe. In the opposite case the weaker the west wind drift the stricter the winter in Europe.

Influence on the climate in Europe
